Alex Sheriff engages with the perceived gap between human and natural history. Working in drawing, sculpture and film Alex clumsily and playfully adopts the viewpoint of species and matter that are other than human, utilizing his own alternative narratives and histories as a way of navigating the Anthropocene, the new epoch we find ourselves in. Sheriff graduated from OCAD University in Drawing and Painting before moving to New York City where he received his MFA in Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in LA.

Alex Sheriff aborde le fossé perçu entre l’histoire humaine et naturelle. Par l’intermédiaire du dessin, de la sculpture et du cinéma, il adopte avec maladresse et dérision la perspective d’espèces et de matière non humaines, utilisant ses propres récits alternatifs comme moyen de naviguer dans l’Anthropocène, l’époque moderne dans laquelle nous nous trouvons. Il a obtenu un diplôme en dessin et en peinture à l’OCAD University avant de déménager à New York, où il a terminé une maîtrise en beaux-arts. Il vit et travaille actuellement à Los Angeles.
